Atlus assembles new publishing arm for European releases

Atlus is setting up shop in the heart of London to take full control of its publishing effort in Europe in an effort to bring the company’s European offerings in line with its other markets.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, the Japanese outfit is in the process of setting up a publishing team in Sega Europe’s London offices as part of its second-hand acquisition by Sega a few years back.

While Atlus has previously relied on third-party publishing firms to bring its games to the region, the new camp will allow it to directly publish its games in the European market.

"It is a strong example of the growth we are experiencing as a company," said senior PR manager Jacob Nahin. "Publishing in Europe is simply the next step for us. What this means initially for fans is a parity for launch and premium editions. From a business perspective, we'll be better positioned to address the needs of each market in which we release our titles.”

Sega Europe’s Simon Inch has already signed on to the squad as commercial director and will be joined by a PR manager and a product marketing manager in the near future. Come from Soccer 13 pools and matches
